As a leader and consultant, I have seen firsthand how well coaching works and strongly believe in its effectiveness as a tool. Great coaching inspires, supports well-being, and enables learning.
I have used coaching myself to support my own well-being and leadership, for example in clarifying and prioritizing my thoughts, planning and executing founding my own company, and improving my time management and delegation skills. In challenging situations, the encouragement and support from my coach have been a significant factor in my success as a leader. My coach's support has helped me to actually make changes in my life.
The role of a coach felt like a natural continuation of my roles as a consultant, leader, facilitator, and mentor. Compared to these roles, it is wonderful to be able to support people without giving them ready-made answers or instructions 😄The mindset of solution-focused coaching is very well aligned with my values and feels natural to me:
5 basic principles of solution-focused coaching
Self-directedness - the answers come from you
Solution-focused - not too much focus on problems in order to move forward
Positive feedback and encouragement - helps with thinking, progress, and success
Appropriate challenge and support - helps you grow
Structure - provides space for yourself and your thinking
As a coach, you can expect me to believe in you, challenge you in a positive way, and invest with 100% in your growth.
